3D Automated Machine Control Hoffman Bros. is considered to be a regional leader in the implementation of Laser, Universal Total Station, and GPS machine control technology. For for nearly 25 years automated machine control has enabled Hoffman Bros. to consistently complete large, complex projects ahead of schedule and under budget. We utilize a multitude of Trimble hardware and software solutions to increase the productivity and reliability of our equipment fleet while also enabling our crews to take on larger and more complex projects. We have more than 50 pieces of equipment outfitted with Trimble’s GCS 900 grade control platform as well as their new Earthworks grade control platform. Trimble’s Connected Site and Internet Base Station technology have also been employed to expand the range and capabilities of our fleet.
At Hoffman Bros., Inc. we perform all 3D model preparation in house for use in the field with our various machine control platforms. We utilize Trimble Business Center for 3D model file preparation as well as for earthwork takeoffs, mass haul analysis, and site optimization.
PlanGrid is a construction productivity software that delivers real-time project information to the people who need it. Blueprints can now be accessed on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets eliminating the need to carry and access full size plans daily. PlanGrid works via the cloud so document management and version control are seamless throughout the life of each project. Team members add markups, photos and as-built information and then instantly sync to update the entire team. Many of our project partners have adopted PlanGrid allowing for tremendous collaboration during construction.
B2W Software provides us with a unified estimating, operations and business intelligence platform that has been developed specifically for the construction industry.
B2W Estimating provides for centralized labor, equipment and material resources along with our own unique cost structures and bid items for use by the entire estimating department. Estimate also standardizes our estimating processes allowing for efficiency, accuracy and synergy amongst the entire estimating staff.
B2W Track is a web and mobile construction tracking software that allows for recording, communicating and analyzing job progress and performance daily. Track not only serves as a time keeping and daily log application, but also delivers real-time visibility into daily costs so our supervisors can make better decisions based on up-to-date information.
B2W Maintain is a specialized software used for repair, maintenance and management of our equipment fleet. Maintain connects the shop, field and management to allow for maximum equipment utilization and reduced maintenance and repair costs. Because Maintain and Track are part of a unified platform, repair requests, equipment status and location are shared between the applications in real time.
Vista by Viewpoint is the industry-leading construction ERP solution for construction accounting. We utilize Vista for project/contract management as well as all aspects of business accounting. Vista provides us with timely and accurate reporting of critical financial data. Vista is fully integrated with our B2W suite of applications.
